Large exhibition stand – How to Design It to Dominate? A CEVA Logistics Case Study
What do you do when a trusted client, for whom you have already completed projects, returns with a task on an unprecedented scale? You rise to the occasion. This was the next, biggest chapter of our collaboration with CEVA Logistics.
Trade fairs like Transport Logistic in Munich are a global arena where leaders meet. The previous edition saw over 75,000 visitors from 135 countries. It was there that we faced one of the most interesting challenges in our history: how to create a large exhibition stand for CEVA Logistics—a global giant from the CMA CGM Group with 170,000 employees—that would not only get noticed but also achieve specific business objectives?
This post is a case study where we show how we interpreted the client's brief and translated their strategic goals into an engaging space.
The Brief: strategic goals of a global leader
We began our work with an in-depth analysis of the objectives. The official brief from CEVA Logistics clearly defined the main priority: "To position CEVA Logistics as a Top 5 leader in the industry." This was to be accomplished by achieving several sub-objectives:
🔹engaging with current and potential clients, 🔹expanding networks and partnerships, 🔹strengthening brand awareness and market leadership, 🔹showcasing innovation and technology, 🔹promoting sustainability initiatives
Our 300-square-meter stand in Munich had to be a precision tool for realizing every one of these points.
Our answer: design as a realization of values and goals
We knew the key was to translate the brand's identity into the language of design. CEVA's strategy is built on four pillars: Excellence, Exemplarity, Imagination, and Boldness. Opting for a theme connected to the Ferrari F1 partnership was our answer to the values of "Boldness" and "Imagination." We created not just a stand, but an ecosystem of experiences where every element had a purpose.
🔹To strengthen brand awareness, we designed an open, island structure with monumental, suspended branding visible from the furthest parts of the hall. 🔹To engage clients and showcase innovation, we focused on interaction – F1 simulators and dynamic multimedia.
🔹To enable networking, we created multifunctional meeting zones – from a casual bar to discreet VIP rooms.
The key to success: elements that formed the whole
Every trade show stand we design is the sum of deliberate decisions. Here are the key components that defined this project's success:
The F1 immersive experience: As per the brief's guidelines, the heart of the stand was the F1 zone. An authentic Ferrari F1 car drew the eye, while two professional driving simulators provided an unforgettable experience, fulfilling the "engagement" objective. The emotions felt during the virtual race created a lasting bond with the CEVA brand.
Intelligently designed zones: The space was divided into zones with different functions: an open networking area with a bar that encouraged casual contact, and a discreet, enclosed VIP zone for key business discussions. This division ensured both comfort and functionality, meeting the need for various types of meeting rooms
The external installation – a play for attention outside the hall: Our work didn't end inside the hall. We designed and arranged an external multimedia container. This was a bold strategic move – we captured visitors' attention even before they entered the Transport Logistic fair, building suspense and curiosity.
Conclusion: apartnership fit for global challenges
Delivering a project as complex as the stand in Munich for CEVA Logistics is the ultimate test of competence. It is proof that we possess not only a creative vision but also the experience and operational capability to execute projects of the highest scale and complexity.
